A Sermon Glorifying Jesus

Pray In Jesus Name To Receive Your Prayer Requests
Praying In Christ's Name (Not Jesus Name) Won't Work
Don't Pray In Christ's Name; True Saints Pray In Jesus Name

Jesus told us that for any prayer request when we are not sinning, if we ask for anything in Jesus name (not Christ's name) we can receive any prayer request. Jesus told us at John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name (Jesus), He may give it you. And Jesus said at John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name (Jesus), I will do it. Friends remember this incredible promise when you pray for anything; Ask in Jesus name for anything believing and you will receive your prayer requests. Deny sin daily and then you will ask for the right things in Jesus name that will be granted.

Note that many preachers and christians pray in Christ's name instead of in Jesus name. They say in Christ's name to avoid offending anyone who could leave their church with their money at the mention of Jesus. In Christ's name won't get results. We must pray in Jesus name to get results. The bible tells us that our Lord's name is JESUS. Matthew 1:21 proclaims And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call His name JESUS (not Christ), for He shall save His people from their sins. And Philippians 2:9-10 says Wherefore God hath highly exalted Him and given Him a name which is above every name. That at the name of Jesus (not Christ) every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

Therefore obey God's Word and ask for anything in Jesus name (not in Christ's name) and overcome the devil and receive your prayer requests. The devil wants people to pray in Christ's name to make their prayers ineffective. Don't be ashamed of the name of Jesus; Proclaim Jesus everywhere. Jesus said at Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He shall come in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy angels. Jesus also said at Matthew 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before the Father which is in heaven.

You'll get persecuted for praying in Jesus name instead of in Christ's name but rejoice through the persecution while your prayer requests are answered. Remember this warning: Be aware of and avoid false preachers used by the devil who pray in Christ's name instead of in Jesus name who pray ineffective prayers having a false outward appearance of religion with no power. Jesus spoke about this at 2 Timothy 3:5 telling us about false preachers: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof (praying in Christ's name instead of in Jesus name); from such turn away. Instead pray with preachers who correctly pray in Jesus name that get powerful results in prayer. Choose to get saved and pray daily with granted results in Jesus name; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

1) The Name Of Jesus Is A Prophesied And Proclaimed Name

Time to glorify the name of Jesus. First the name of Jesus is a prophesied name. Before Jesus was born, the Father told Jesus' adopted dad Joseph in a dream at Matthew 1:21 And she (Mary) shall bring forth a Son and thou shalt call His name JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sins. Next the name of Jesus is a proclaimed name; According to Psalm 34:1 proclaim the name of Jesus everywhere at all times. Right now say I will bless the Lord (Jesus) at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Proclaim and bless the name of Jesus in the morning. Like David say Psalm 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord (Jesus); in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Proclaim and bless the name of Jesus in the night. Like David say Psalm 134 Behold, bless ye the Lord (Jesus), all ye servants of the Lord, which by night stand in the house of the Lord. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord (Jesus). The Lord that made heaven and earth bless thee out of Zion. Just pray in the name of Jesus at all times. Like David say Psalm 55:17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray (in Jesus name), and cry aloud; and He shall hear my voice.

2) The Name Of Jesus Is A Powerful Name

Next the name of Jesus is a powerful name. The powerful name of Jesus can heal any sickness. Pray in Jesus name to receive healing for any sickness. Peter used the powerful name of Jesus to heal a lame man at the Beautiful gate. First there was a lameness, then there was a look, then there was a limp, and finally there was a leap of joy. According to Acts 3:6 Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee; In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up; and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

3) The Name Of Jesus Is A Persecuted Name

Third the name of Jesus is a persecuted name. You'll get persecuted when you say the name of Jesus in public. Rejoice if you are persecuted for saying the name Jesus because according to the bible, happiness and blessings occur when you are persecuted about Jesus. 1 Peter 4:14 promises If you be reproached for the name of (Jesus) Christ, happy (blessed) are ye; for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you; on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He (Jesus) is glorified.

Brother Bob's answering machine message always says "Have a blessed day in the name of Jesus." My unsaved dad used to say that my message was offensive and would prevent me from getting a job. He said why must you say Jesus on your answering machine? My dad persecuted me and wouldn't help me financially. But a christian employer got blessed by my message and gave me a job that I did for 34 years. I'm glad I had the name Jesus on my answering machine and I'm still rejoicing today through all the persecution with retirement where I don't have to work another day of my life.

4) The Name Of Jesus Is A Precious Name

Fourth the name of Jesus is a precious name. Not only is the name of Jesus precious but the blood of Jesus that removes our sin and gives us victory over the devil is precious. 1 Peter 2:6 tells us that the name of Jesus is precious; Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious (Jesus): and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe He (Jesus) is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner.

1 Peter 1:18-19 tells us that the blood of Jesus is precious: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. Praise Jesus for redeeming, purchasing, buying, and freeing us from sin with His own precious blood shed at Calvary. Right now rejoice and say Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own (precious) blood He (Jesus) entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

5) The Name Of Jesus Is A Prevailing Name

Finally the name of Jesus is a prevailing name. Remember when you pray in Jesus name you will prevail and always receive victory. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. And 2 Corinthians 2:14 tells us Now thanks be unto God which always causeth us to triumph in Christ and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.

Remember with Jesus you are always a winner that stands on a firm foundation that never fails. If you stand on the foundation Jesus, you'll stand through any storm or trouble. 1 Corinthians 3:11 tells us that Jesus is our foundation; For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. According to Matthew 7:25 the foundation of Jesus is a Rock that will survive and overcome any trouble, sickness, or worry. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon a Rock (Jesus).

About A Jigsaw Puzzle With A Map Of The World On One Side
And A Picture Of Jesus On The Other Side

A father told his four year old little daughter to put together a jigsaw puzzle. The puzzle was a map of the world in sections on one side and a picture of Jesus on the other side. The four year old little girl put the puzzle together in just one minute. Her daddy was amazed. She had all the continents in the right place; (North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica).

The little girl's daddy asked her how did you put the puzzle together so fast and so correctly? The little girl replied Daddy I didn't know what the world looked like but on the other side of this map there was a big picture of Jesus. Then the little girl said I put Jesus together and the whole world turned out right. Like this little girl when Jesus completes your life with salvation, peace, and joy the whole world will turn out right. Jesus promised us at John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace, in the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Right now like the little girl get saved with victory over this troubled world; Repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died for you on the cross, was buried, and rose again.

A Sermon Exalting Jesus
Praise Jesus For His Blessed Accomplishments Listed Below

Jesus was born contrary to the laws of life. Jesus lived in poverty and was reared in obscurity. He did not travel extensively. Only once did He cross the boundary of the country in which He lived to escape Herod, fleeing to Egypt as a little child. He possessed neither name, wealth, or influence in his early years. His relatives were uninfluential and inconspicuous (brothers James Joses, Juda, and Simon with His sisters listed at Mark 6:3) who did not receive salvation until after Jesus' resurrection (note that Acts 1:14 says Jesus' brethren got saved continuing with one accord in prayer and supplication after Jesus' resurrection).

During Jesus' infancy, He startled King Herod. During Jesus' childhood, He puzzled the doctors. During Jesus' manhood, He ruled the course of nature by calming a storm with just three words (Peace Be Still) where the raging waves layed down like sleeping dogs at His feet and the winds howling like maniacs began to whisper softly like babes in sweet sleep.

Jesus healed the multitudes without medicine and made no charges for His services. Jesus never wrote a book but yet all the books in the world could not tell all that He did while He was on this earth. Jesus never wrote a song but He's furnished the theme for more songs than all the other songs written in this world.

Jesus never founded a college but all the schools put together cannot boast as many students as He does. Jesus never practiced medicine but He's healed more broken hearts than all the doctors far and near. Jesus never marshaled an army nor drafted a soldier nor fired a gun, yet no leader ever had more volunteers who obeyed His orders and made rebels stack arms and surrender without a shot being fired.

He's Jesus; He's King; He's Lord of lords
His Name Is Jesus That Is The Name Above All Names

A Sermon Exalting Jesus
Read Below How Jesus Is Exalted In Nature

Jesus is the Rock of geology. When the world around you is crumbling, Jesus is the Rock on which you can stand. 1 Corinthians 10:4 says And did all drink the same spiriitual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. Jesus is the lion and the lamb of the zoological kingdom stated at Revelation 5:5-6. Jesus is the greatest star of astronomy.

Jesus is the revealer of secrets. Jesus is the quickener of all that is wholesome. Jesus is the adorner of all that is beautiful. Jesus is the reconciler of all that is contradictory. Jesus is the harmonizer of all discords. Jesus is the healer of all diseases. Jesus is the Saviour of all men who put their faith and trust in Him.

The names of past scientists, philosophers, and theologians have come and gone. But the name of Jesus abounds more and more where Jesus lives on forever and ever. Herod couldn't kill Him. Satan couldn't seduce Him. And death couldn't hold Him. Jesus stands forth on the highest pinnacle of heavenly glory proclaimed by God, acknowledged by angels, adored by saints, and feared by devils, where Jesus is the preeminent God with a name above all names. Colossians 1:18 tells us And He (Jesus) is the head of the body, the church; who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He might have the preeminence.

A Sermon Exalting Jesus
Read Below How Jesus Is Exalted Throughout The Bible

Jesus is everywhere in the bible. What the hub is to the wheel, the Lord Jesus is to the Word Of God; It all revolves around Him. All of its types and prophecies point to Jesus; All of its truths converge in Jesus; All of its glories reflect Jesus; All of its promises radiate from Jesus; All of its beauties are embodied by Jesus; All of its demands are exemplified by Jesus; All of its predictions are fulfilled by Jesus.

Jesus was Abel's Lamb (Genesis 4:4); Jesus was Abraham's ram when Isaac was offered up on Mount Moriah (Genesis 22:13); Jesus was the brazen serpent lifted up by Moses in the wilderness (Numbers 21:8); Jesus was the scapegoat who carried away our sins into the wilderness to be forgotten forever (Leviticus 16:21); Jesus was the scarlet thread that the harlot Rahab hung in the window to testify that God would have mercy on her home (Joshua 2:18-19); Jesus ate with Abraham in the desert tent and sent two angels into Sodom to get Lot out of bondage (Genesis 18:1-2 and Genesis 19:1).

Jacob called Jesus the Lawgiver of Israel (Genesis 49:10); Moses said Jesus was the Prophet that was to come like unto me (Deuteronomy 18:15); Job called Jesus My Living Redeemer (Job 19:25); Daniel called Jesus the Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:9); Jeremiah called Jesus the Lord My Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6); And at Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah called Jesus Wonderful, Counsellor; The Mighty God; The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace; Micah tells the place of His birth at Bethlehem Ephratah (Micah 5:2); The book of Jonah tells of His death burial, and resurrection; Amos told of His second advent (Amos 9:11-15); and Ezekial gives us a picture of the millennial temple (Ezekial Chapters 40-48).

A Little Humor Below About A Preacher And A Cop To Make You Smile

An old preacher was speeding down the road when a cop pulled him over. The cop told the preacher What's that bottle between your legs? The preacher replied That's only water officer. The cop said Let me see that and when the cop smelled it he said Whew! water nothing; preacher that's wine. The preacher replied Praise the Lord He done did it again. Jesus turned the water into wine.
