Like Sheep And Chipmunks Keep Meditating On The Word Of God
Today let's learn many holy biblical truths from the Lord Jesus. The other day Jesus told Brother Bob to go to a farm and watch baby lambs pictured above eat hay. The baby lambs were focused on the hay and would not look at Brother Bob or let me pet or hold them. Brother Bob told Jesus that this was boring and did not know why God would have him watch sheep eat hay for an hour.
But the next day Brother Bob heard a preacher speak about why sheep and lambs eat hay quickly whole without chewing. The preacher said that after the sheep eat a lot of hay, they lay down in a field, and then start chewing on the hay before they swallow the hay. Chipmunks also do this. Chipmunks gather a lot of food in their jaws and then relax and lay down while they chew on the food. Jesus told Brother Bob that we need to be like these sheep and chipmunks when we daily meditate on God's Word.
When sheep eat hay they focus on the hay and tune out the world. Like sheep, we need to focus on the Word of God and tune out the world. Wake up early every morning and meditate on the Word of God before you are too busy during the day with work and chores. The Word of God is more important than breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Word of God gives us strength to overcome the troubles of this world.
Chipmunks are famous for gathering seeds and storing them in their cheek pouches to bring back to their burrows. This mirrors the practice of memorizing bible verses that are seeds of truth that you can access later. A chipmunk doesn't just collect seeds. Eventually a chipmunk will return to his burrow to feast on his stored treasures. Similarly, remembering a bible verse involves pulling a stored verse from your memory to reflect on it during quiet moments in your life.
Job 23:12 says Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. Like sheep, daily take time to meditate and chew on the Word of God to get strength and peace. Jeremiah 15:16 says Thy words were found, and I did eat them: and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. Jesus said at John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Like the sheep and chipmunks, listen daily to preaching and fill your Spirit with the Word of God while you jot down notes when you hear a blessed truth. Just continuously listen and feed your Spirit daily with blessed preaching from the Word of God. Some blessed preachers to listen to are Peter Ruckman, Bill Grady, Danny Castle, John Koletas, and Nathan Bemis. Listen to preaching while you cook, clean your house, and do chores. When the Word of God goes through your house, the devil will flee from your presence. When Jesus spoke the Word of God saying It is written to the devil, Matthew 4:11 says Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him. Like Jesus, when we listen daily to the Word of God in our homes, the devil will leave us and angels will come and minister strength unto us.
If you can't remember everything preached that day from the Word of God, like the sheep and chipmunks, later another day when you relax, meditate, and chew on the Word of God, Jesus will have you remember what was preached days before and strengthen you. Continuously keep listening to blessed preaching of the Word of God. Hebrews 2:1 says Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Notice that the baby lambs pictured above are focused on the hay when they eat. Like the baby lambs, we need to stay focused on the Word of God daily. Psalm 1 promises that if we meditate day and night on the Word of God, whatsoever we do will prosper. Psalm 1:2 says But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. If anyone meditates and memorizes the Word of God daily like sheep and chipmunks daily chewing on their food, the Lord Jesus will fix and heal every problem in that person's life.
Notice the picture above and rejoice that the Lord Jesus has removed our sins as far as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:12 says As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He (the Lord Jesus) removed our transgressions from us. This is saying God has removed our sins forever because the distance from the east to the west is immeasurable. The mercy of God is as far as the east is from the west.
Notice the picture above of a hammer, a rock, and a chisel. This reminds Brother Bob of what heathens in the jungles of Africa used to make idols for worship. A primitive heathen in the jungle would hammer a rock or whittle a piece of wood with a chisel to make an idol to be worshipped. These heathens need to learn that only the Lord Jesus must be worshipped. Heathens will learn that God who is Jesus made the hammer, the rock, the wood, the chisel, and God also made the chiseler. Primitive heathens need to worship the Lord Jesus who created everything instead of an idol.
Colossians 1:16 says For by Him (Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. Don't be like the heathens that worship idols. Get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for you, was buried, and rose again. Heathens that worship idols have no excuse for not believing that Jesus is God because Romans 1:20 says For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.
God wrote something with his finger three times. First, God wrote with his finger the ten commandments when He met Moses on top of mount Sinai. Second, pictured above Daniel 5:25 says that God wrote upon the plaister of the wall at King Belshazzar's great feast, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. This was God's judgment upon King Belshazzar who died after he placed wine in the holy vessels of God.
But one day this sinner noticed that a storm on the lake by his house in the tombs became peaceful and calm. This sinner prayed that whoever made the storm calm when he heard someone say Peace be still could visit his home in Gadarenes. Notice that the sinful disciples had to carry Jesus in a boat over a stormy lake to the sinner who needed to be saved at Gadarenes. Friends everywhere, saved saints are like these disciples and must carry Jesus over this troubled world to save lost sinners everywhere around this earth. Jesus commanded us at Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Witness Jesus everywhere. Tell people to get saved, repent, decide to stop sinning, confess that Jesus is God, and believe the gospel that Jesus died on the cross for them, was buried, and rose again.
Jesus saved this lost sinner of Gadarenes and cast out legion devils into swine who ran violently down a steep place into a lake and were choked. Luke 8:35 says the sinner of Gadarenes out of whom the devils were departed was sitting at the feet of Jesus clothed and in his right mind. This crazy nut got saved, put on clothes, and published books from Decapolis about the great things Jesus had done unto him. Jesus told the sinner of Gadarenes at Luke 8:39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

Just continuously listen and feed your Spirit daily with blessed preaching from the Word of God. The Measurements Of Mercy
Mercy Is As The Heaven Is High Above The Earth
Rejoice about how the mercy of God is measured. Psalm 103:11 says For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him. First let's look at the height of God's mercy to lost sinners. The hubble telescope has viewed billions of stars above us that are 200 million light years away (note that a light year is 5.9 trillion miles). It has also viewed galaxies 50 million light years away. But to find out the height of God's mercy to lost sinners, one must travel above the stars and galaxies to God's mercy seat in the third heaven's kingdom of God.
The Lord Jesus showed us the height of God's mercy when He traveled from the throne room of the third heaven and came down past the stars and galaxies to this earth. Jesus became a man and died for our sins on the cross of Calvary. Then Jesus took His own blood that He shed at the cross of Calvary all the way back to the third heaven past the stars and galaxies and put His own blood on God's mercy seat so every sinner could have mercy and get their sins removed forever. 1 John 1:7 says But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
The Measurements Of Mercy
Mercy Is As Far As The East Is From The West
Notice the picture above and rejoice that the Lord Jesus has removed our sins as far as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:12 says As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He (the Lord Jesus) removed our transgressions from us. This is saying God has removed our sins forever because the distance from the east to the west is immeasurable. The mercy of God is as far as the east is from the west.
I'm glad God didn't remove my sins as far as the north is from the south where the devil could find my sins and bring them to my remembrance. This is because the north and south have ending points at the North and South Pole. But there is no location where the east or west ends. God removed my sins as far as the east is from the west, and the devil will not find my sins that God forgets forever.
One day the devil was looking for Brother Bob and his friends' sins. The devil said I'm going to go east to find their sins and when he got to the west he realized he was going east and couldn't find our sins. Then the devil said I'm going to go west to find their sins and when he got to the east he realized that he was going west and couldn't find our sins. Tell the devil, devil you'll never find my sins because God has removed my sins as far as the east is from the west and they can't be found. And I'm not going to travel as far as the east is from the west to get reacquainted with my sins again.
God Made The Hammer, The Rock, The Wood, The Chisel
And God Also Made The Chiseler
Jesus Made Everything
Colossians 1:16 says For by Him (Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. The Three Times God Wrote Something With His Finger
What Did The Lord Jesus Write On The Ground?
The third time God wrote something with His finger was when the Lord Jesus wrote something on the ground, causing the accusers of a woman taken in adultery to walk away. John 8:3 speaks about Jesus writing on the ground and then saving a woman taken in the act of adultery from her accusers. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto Him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting Him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
So when they continued asking Him, he lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw none but the woman, He said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. and Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
The Lord Jesus wrote the names of the scribes and the Pharisees in the earth who found fault with the adulterous woman, thereby fulfilling the prophecy of Jeremiah 17:13. O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters. By writing in the dust, Jesus was visually illustrating and fulfilling Jeremiah's prophecy, indicating that the accusers, by rejecting Him (the fountain of living waters mentioned just a chapter earlier at John 7:38) were the very people written in the earth.
Jesus said at John 7:37 If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified. After Jesus spoke about the fountain of living waters that represents Jesus and the Holy Spirit, the scribes and Pharisees brought accusations against Jesus before the adulterous woman. Then Jesus wrote the names of the scribes and the Pharisees in the earth, thereby fulfilling the prophecy of Jeremiah 17:13. The names of the scribes and Pharisees who departed from Jesus were written in the earth because they had forsaken the Lord Jesus who is the fountain of living waters.
The Three Times God Wrote Something With His Finger
Represent Law, Judgment, And Mercy
The three times God wrote something with his finger represent three different aspects of God's character: The Law by the Ten Commandments, Judgment at Belshazzar's feast, and Mercy for the woman caught in the act of adultery. Exodus 31:18 says that the Law of the Ten Commandments was written with the finger of God. And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. Though Moses shattered the first set in anger when he saw Israel worshiping a golden calf, God wrote the Ten Commandments a second time on new tables of stones.
Belshazzar lived during the time of the Law and the Ten Commandments before grace and suffered judgment and death for placing wine in the holy vessels of God. But the woman caught in the act of adultery lived during the time of grace with the Lord Jesus and lived while her accusers departed one by one after Jesus said he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
How Sinful Disciples Carried Jesus On A Boat To Save A Sinner At Gadarenes
We learn from this bible study that the only good thing in us is Jesus. People might have flaws but Jesus chooses to work through imperfect sinners like you and me. The reason God works through flawed sinners is so only Jesus gets the glory. 2 Corinthians 4:7 says But we have this treasure (Jesus) in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Pictured above notice how Jesus used sinful disciples to carry Jesus in a boat over a stormy lake to a lost sinner needing salvation at Gadarenes. Luke 8 says that this sinner of Gadarenes lived in tombs, had devils a long time, ware no clothes, broke chains and fetters, and ran many times into the wilderness.
I pray in Jesus name that this bible study blesses multitudes everywhere with great joy, peace, and strength.
